About me
Violist and violinist Jeanie Hwang is passionate about bringing music to diverse audiences as both a performer and educator. With nearly a decade of teaching experience, she spent four years as a preparatory orchestra assistant at the Cleveland Institute of Music , where she frequently led sectionals and rehearsals. As a performer, Jeanie is a violist with the Palm Beach Symphony and Miami-based contemporary chamber orchestra, Nu Deco Ensemble. She has appeared as a soloist with the Odysseus Chamber Orchestra and has also played with New World Symphony, Florida Grand Opera, Opera Naples, and the Canton Symphony. Jeanie also regularly performs in Candlelight concerts throughout South Florida.
Jeanie has performed in chamber masterclasses for Ani Kavafian, members of the Emerson String Quartet, Dover Quartet, the Cavani Quartet, and the Orion String Quartet. She has performed in solo master classes for Lawrence Dutton, Caroline Coade, and Johnathan Brown. She has had the privilege of performing under the batons of Gerard Schwarz, Carlos Kalmar, Peter Oundjian, Andrew Graham, and Scott Yoo.
Jeanie holds a bachelor’s degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music and a master’s degree from Florida International University.
